The Software Engineer II designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for new products, new features and software enhancements. Position Reports to: Manager, Software Engineering

Job Overview:

The Software Engineer II designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for new products, new features and software enhancements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Proficient at complex programming exercising independence and discretion while working independentlyor as part of a team.

  • Documents and communicates on technical topics within the immediate development team

  • History of success working within a team environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2+ years of related experience

  • Excellent designing and coding skills

  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

  • Strong experience in Microsoft Visual C++ and Visual Studio

  • Proven working experience in Win32 GUI and MFC programming

  • Proven working experience with.NET framework and C# programming

  • Experience with building web applications using ASP.NET framework

  • Conversant with Web Servers (IIS/Apache Tomcat)

  • Strong experience with SQL Databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)

  • Experience with File Transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP)

  • Proficient understanding and experience of code versioning tools, such as Git

  • Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins) and build tools (Maven, Gradle)

  • Conversant with Windows OS

  • Fluency in English language, both written and spoken excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to deal professionally and collaboratively with all levels of the organization and across geographies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Win32 Socket programming

  • Experience with Windows Schannel API (SSL)

  • Conversant with Windows Script Hosting & Script Interpreter

  • Conversant with VBA SDK

  • Experience with CGI (Common Gateway Interface) Apps

  • Conversant with ActiveX/COM framework

  • Conversant with Web Server (iPlanet)

  • Conversant with Unix/Linux

  • Experience with File Transfer protocols (Zmodem, Kermit, LIPI)

  • Conversant with public cloud vendors such as IBM Cloud or AWS

  • Thrives in a multi-tasking environment with constantly evolving priorities.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems into simple sub problems and then reuse available solutions to implement most of those.

  • Ability to design simple systems that can work efficiently without needing much support.

  • Agile development methodologies

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
